Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Central

It's almost that time of year again... when the Ugly Christmas Sweaters march forth from the dark corners of your closet for their annual fashion show!

If you've never attended or hosted an Ugly Christmas Sweater party, you're really missing out. It really is one of the funniest themes for a relaxing, enjoyable celebration.

The premise is very simple: dig around in your closet until you find that horrific sweater you've been meaning to donate at the thrift shop (or, if you already did, hit the thrift shop, it's probably still there) and wear it with pride!
Don't worry, everyone else will be wearing one too, and odds are, someone else at the party will have a more hideous sweater than you.

If you're hosting the ugly sweater party this year, here are a few ideas to get you started:

Make sure all your guests know well in advance what your theme is, so they can prepare (and build up their courage to actually wear that sweater).  Ugly Christmas Sweater parties are super fun, and there are several invitation styles to choose from here.  Be sure you edit all the details for your party (time, date, RSVP info, etc.)

What could be better than an ugly Christmas sweater pattern on a... throw pillow, place mats, kitchen towels, candy jars, party plates, drink coasters or table lamps?  We don't know either!  They're all in store at Reflections zazzle in the Ugly Christmas Sweater department.

Food and Drinks:

Depending on the age group for your party, food and drinks can get really creative.  From simple finger foods to elaborate dinners or cocktail parties you really can't go wrong.  A popular idea is to get a t-shirt shaped cookie cutter to make your own sugar cookies and then decorate all your little ugly Christmas sweaters with your party guests. Be sure to check out pinterest for some great ideas on ugly Christmas sweater party foods.

Be sure to have a voting station somewhere with ballot cards handy so your guests can vote for the ugliest sweater (or you can have categories such as creepiest, cutest, etc.) and be sure everyone knows there are fabulous prizes to be won!

Here are some fun prize ideas in store:

The most important thing to remember this year (and in the coming years because yes, you will do this again), is that an Ugly Christmas Sweater party is first and foremost, a simple and fun way to relax and enjoy the holiday season.  So have fun!
